Coach Deana "D"

 Deana Newman Bledsoe is a passionate, high-energy coach with over two decades of experience in both indoor and beach volleyball. Her journey has taken her from middle school competition to collegiate play, international matches, and the professional beach circuit. She has coached at the club, high school, and elite levels—developing athletes who have gone on to collegiate programs, earned major accolades, and grown into confident leaders on and off the court. Known for her expertise in setter training, libero development, and defensive systems, Deana runs purposeful, high-intensity practices that balance technical precision with encouragement and individualized support.

An award-winning educator and academic coach, Deana brings the same focus and accountability to the classroom as she does to the court. Her background in IB History, AP Psychology, standardized test prep, and college admissions guidance gives her a unique ability to mentor student-athletes through the challenges of balancing academics, athletics, and personal growth. Volleyball has also been deeply personal for Deana—it was a lifeline during her toughest seasons, including the loss of loved ones and caring for her husband through multiple battles with cancer. That resilience fuels her commitment to building strong team cultures where athletes are challenged, championed, and celebrated.

Now bringing her expertise to Elite Volleyball Club, Deana will lead as Head Coach for both the 15 Premier and assistant Coach for 17 National. She’s excited to pair her passion and drive with Elite’s mission—preparing athletes to compete at the highest level while fostering the character, confidence, and love for the game that lasts far beyond the final whistle.
